Sneak Peek: TBG - Hand Picked Cotton

We're just about to launch the first new collection from TBG here on DG...and we hope y'all are ready for some serious heat. The collection merges top notch cut & sew & design skills with themes based on America's controversial history of slavery and the ensuing social movement towards civil rights, highlighting some of the key attitudes and key players along the way. You'll see! TBG’s creator and veteran designer Adrian A. who founded the brand Too Black Guys way back in 1990, has gone out on a limb with this new brand, making powerful statements about history and society within his collection. Incase you're too young to remember, Too Black Guys was a quick hit amongst the hip-hop community with supporters such as Ice Cube, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, and director Spike Lee. The line had 10 successful years and 2 boutiques one in Toronto, and the other in New York until, Adrian felt it was time to move on. Adrian then became design director for Ecko ultd. and more notably the design director at Canada’s leading lifestyle brand, Roots. In regards to TBG: Hand Picked Cotton, he stated that, “I am hoping to bring a balance back to streetwear, When you are selling messages in your garments, your garments have to be at least as strong as the messages." The cut & sew skills flexed here are unparalleled and even the t-shirts are original cut & sew garments...Adrian states, “TBG is a collection that combines the sentiment of the early nineties with the best of today’s style.” The first delivery will be available at premium retailers such as Union NYC, Fred Segal, Reed Space, Grey One, Pieces, and Digital Gravel - that's us!
